is I’m going to put my tape measure up

find my 24 inch mark then I’m going to
go and measure between the two trusses
about 10 inches in the center mark an X
here then I’m going to take my screw we
want to place the screw and drill it
directly through the the plywood through
the roofing material so that it’s
exposed up on the roof you can see here

that’s included inside of your kit over
the screw and then the purpose of that
is so that we can then take your
construction pencil and Mark onto the
roof around the circumference on the
template and you’ll have a perfect guide
so that you’ll know where to cut the
hole with your sawzall
okay after you’ve made your mark as you
can see here around the template now
you’re going to take your half inch
panel bit you’re going to place the half
inch paddle pin directly on your line
and then you’re going to drill a hole
through the roofing material and the
plywood below it that’s going to be a
starter hole for your Sol’s off we’ve
made our pilot hole now it’s time to cut
the hole through the roof use the sharp
blade when you cut that and do a neat
job when cutting through the shingles or
whatever roofing material you’re cutting
one of the reasons why we place the
screw in here is not only for placement
about the template on top but it’s also
a place that the Installer can hold the
slug when it’s being removed because
it’s very important not to drop this
down into the Attic because it hits the
drywall and could break through into the
house causing a very expensive repair so
be sure not to drop this okay the next
step is we’re going to take our flat bar
and we’re going to lift up the shingle
around here and the reason for doing
that is so that we can make sure that
the flashing is gonna be able to slide
back there are about four and a half
inches and this step we’re going to take
the sawzall we’re going to place a blade
at the saws-all underneath the tar paper
between the tar paper and the roofing
material and we’re going to make a
circle and what that I’ll do is I’ll cut
any nails it might be in the weights of
the flashing will slide underneath there
for the shank oh stop the tarp ever
begins we’d like to get the flashing
underneath the tar paper and reach in
here and cut back about four and a half
inches it’s not always necessary to get
the flashing under the tar paper
different rippers have different ideas
and thoughts on how that should be done
I’m gonna recommend it that it gets
installed underneath the tar paper yeah
for the whole city crap we’re going to
write the flashing in and do it until
it’s right fit so we put it underneath
the shingles I’m going to go ahead and
pull it off now I’m gonna place some
Cena underneath the bottom of the fog
the solar fan and place it back on into
the shingles and then we’ll fasten it
down okay now we’re going to apply two
concentric beads of roof sealant around
the bottom of this flash and one of them
is going to be approximately here and
the other beads going to be here don’t
put it too close to the inside of the
flash and keep it close to the outside
what this will do this will help to
ensure that the unit will be held to the
roof a little bit tighter as well as
keep any possible leaks that might be
coming in up above the flashing
fiz I’m after I’ve applied this sealant
to the bottom of the flashing and you
can place it over the hole but I have to
hold it up so that only end up wiping
all the sealant mom
okay now we’ve placed the saw pen on the
roof the sealant is under here we have
it straight and level now we’re going to
place the screws we recommend two screws
on the bottom two screws on the side two
screws on the back
okay after you’ve installed all the
screws around the solar fan you can go
ahead and put a bead of caulk all who
run the neck very important to get it
around the back on the top of the screws

Connect the white wire to a silver terminal on the outlet. Connect the green wire to the green screw and black to the bronze.
- Replace the outlet – After connecting the wire to the outlet, ensure it is inserted back to the electrical box. Secure the wire with the screws that was removed. Ensure the wires are straight and not curled into the back of the electrical box and set the faceplate to the outlet.
- Now, run the wire to the attic fan – Run the wire from the box through the attic to the fan. If you have uncovered wire, you will have staple the wire to the floor joists. But if the wire is covered, you will have to remove a part of the drywall to run wire through the studs.
- Connect wire to the attic fan – Again, use the wire stripper to remove an inch of the insulation of the wire just as you need to the three strands of the wire at the other end. Connect the white wire to the silver, black wire to the bronze and the green wire to the green wire. Ensure that the connection is very tight.
- Cover the wire end – Use the cover on the back of the attic fan to prevent moisture and sparks.
- Turn on power to run the fan – After completing the installation, you can turn on power from the circuit breaker. Set the the thermostat to your desired temperature and ensure the fan works perfectly.
How to replace the attic fan motor?
Replacing an attic fan motor can be very challenging since it involves wiring. But it can be done following this process.
- Remove the attic fan motor – The very first thing to do is to turn off the fan and unplug it. You may have to remove the attic fan completely and bring it down. But that won’t be necessary if you can reach the back of the fan. The motor can easily be removed without removing the fan. Take off the back of the attic fan and remove the motor by removing the wire. Take note of where each wire belongs.
- Mount the new motor – Place the new motor into the attic fan. Fix the different wires into their rightful positions using a pair of pliers. Screw the connection back to the attic fan motor tightly and secure the wire with tapes. Then, return the back cover of the fan.
- Turn on the fan – Plug back the attic fan and turn it on.
How to Replace an Attic Fan?
So our attic fan broke because we had a
sloppy contractor who got something
caught in the fan and so today I’m going
to show you how to replace the motor of
an attic fan so first thing you need to
do is get a replacement motor and these
can be sourced online but you need to
make sure you have the right part and
I’ll have a link down here for where I
got mine where get yours I have a light
because I’m gonna have to turn the power off
wd-40 handy Leatherman and a socket
wrench and that should be all we need to
replace this so first step with any
electrical job is I’m going to shut the
power off which is why we need these
lights so the power is now often the
first step is going to be taking the lid
off the adjustable thermostat typically
these just pull right off there it goes
okay and now we want to connect the
electrical so what we can see in here is
electrical running to the fan you can
see a black wire black wire and a white
wire so we want to leave everything else
intact we’re going to take out the black
one that’s running to the fan and to the
white one running to the fan okay so
these have been removed and the next
step is going to be to remove the
conduit I restarted here but you’re just
going to twist this part right there
counterclockwise until it comes off and
you’ll see just as I’m screwing this so
I’m going to do that and then I’m going
to get my wrench and there’s a couple
screws that hold this in one’s right
here we’re to unscrew those three screws
and hopefully then the motor will just
pop right out and it should pull right
out from the electrical okay so those
are all loose and now this whole unit is legion what’s
homemade it is the fan blade and so well
this actually might be great now using
an iPhone you can see the little screw
holding into place I’m going to unscrew
that and then this unit will be free and
we’ll swap the other one out so the
little screw up there was a hex screw um
so I needed a hex key to get it out and
luckily I had one but it’s still really
really tight so what I did is I came in
in here and sprayed a little wd-40 on
that sucker let me give her a minute and
try to loosen it up again but once we
get that off the whole unit should come
out and we’ll swap them out so this is
the old fan you can see it’s made by
venom addict limited and so I have a
replacement here this is the replacement
model I’ll show you where you can buy
this I’m going to do a swap off this
part here cover it up here and replace
everything just so you can see it really
was hard to get off but there’s a little
hex key piece that holds the whole thing
together so I’m gonna now do everything
in Reverse and hopefully it all works
when we put it back so everything’s now
back together and I can power on it
switching hollowed-out unscrewing that
little screw on couple fan replacing it
tidying everything back up and as I
thought the thermostat wasn’t what
yeah what worked out so hope this is helpful once
again I think the key thing is making
sure you find the right for placement
motor and once you have that it’s not
