Customers Feedback:
If your have to seal a seam then this is it. It is expressive but much cheaper then a new roof, I used this on my RV a 32 foot 5th wheel did all the seams on the roof and walls. I used about 2 and half rolls of the 50 foot. I plan on going around my windows to and recoating the roof this year. I think this is a better option then caulk I think it will last much longer then the caulk I was having to recaulk every year or so.
I had an area on the front of my camper that was leaking due to the rubber seal strip pealing away. Slapped some of this on there and problem solved! Super sticky stuff, that has a nice white vinyl type material on the top edge that doesn’t make your repair look like a “quick fix” even though it certainly is. I also used this to seal a skylight on an older motorhome that I had and it didn’t leak for the few years that I had it.

Customers Feedback:
… so you must pay the price. Make sure you have surgical or other gloves, and plenty of cleaning material and water handy. Water – you will need to smooth and thin the application part (less is better), cleaning material – clean all what you accidentally mess w/it ASAP and gloves b/c you want to use your fingers in the future. If you have a trailer or RV, old or new, do not look at any other material. Forget silicone!
It’s the standard of caulks for RVs for sure. One note of caution for a great application – be sure to not go very far before smoothing what you already laid down. Even in 55 degree, cloudy weather the caulk starts to skin in about 30-45 seconds and trying to smooth that out you end up with a slightly chunky caulk line. Go about 2-3 feet, smooth, then another 2-3 foot section. Great stuff.

Perfect sealant for our 2004 Airstream classic. Used to seal the gap between the shell and bumper. Stopped a leak. Please note – use this product for outside purposes only as the product suggests – strong chemical order when using. The order will subside after a bit. Definitely use gloves/plastic or throw aways as this will stain. All this is probably obvious but I felt it was necessary to add in my review. GREAT PRODUCT!!!
I use this product to seal the seams in my birch bark canoe. This product and those like it are the only non-natural products used by birch bark canoe makers. It does the job better than the traditional mixture of bear fat, pine pitch, and charcoal! I realize that this review will be of no use to most everyone, but simply had to let it be known that this product has more than one use!

I’ve used this for years at an ambulance manufacturing company while installing exterior items on the ambulance. We never had a warranty claim on leaking or corrosion while using this product. This putty tape is for sealing only not to secure items. Great product for keeping water out and with no corrosion issues. I highly recommend this product. It is true in the summer months it gets very soft and you need to keep it cool before installing it. I hope this helps someone.

I used this product to reattach a urethane rib to a urethane belt. Preparation is everything. Follow the instructions, take your time, and be sure to prepare the surface to be bonded per manufacturer instructions. If in doubt about any step, consult with their technical services dept..Do not deviate from their instructions. This is a quality product from a quality manufacturer, engineered to meet the need for bonding urethane to urethane. A very good investment.
This was exactly what I needed for my RV. I didn’t buy the self leveling because it is a lot thinner. This stuck well to my vertical and underneath areas without dripping. In my thoughts the self leveling just makes it look pretty in top where you won’t see the fingerprints as much. It’s golfing well and only wished that last person would have used it. I like 50year silicone but it comes right off the rubber and other smooth surfaces. Spent 4 hours pulling The old stuff off.

Customers Feedback:
This is the right sealer if you are working on or repairing a rubber roof on you RV. Self leveling, it gives you a nice seal around vents or over screws. If you are repairing a tear, make sure you put a patch over the tear first, then cover with this sealer. It has no structural strength like silicon or others, but will not crack when dry or with heat from the sun…
This is the best sealant I have ever used. The adhesion is like nothing else. I used it for an EPDM roof replacement and it worked awesome. Also, It says not to use on vertical surfaces but I did it anyways on RV windows and hatches and it still works great if it is smoothed out rather than left to self level as it is designed. This stuff also never hardens which keeps it from cracking, but also definitely stays where I put it.

FAQs on the Best RV Sealants for 2023
How to apply and remove your RV sealant?
The applying of your RV Sealant Caulk to the roof is very easy and you should note that before using it, the tour must ensure that the surface is clean and dry. You must read the label before applying to resist the crack and seal the sheets especially EPDM sheets properly. Furthermore, you must apply it as you apply paint on the surface.
Removing the tape depends on the types of sealant you have applied. You can depend on the instruction written in the manual for removing the sealant off the roof of your RV. If your sealant for roofs takes much time to get dry hard to allow it to remove, then it is not the best quality and you must change it quickly. Also, it is important to note that you do not apply to the place which is not air-conditioned or sun-proof as it may cause damage to the roof of your RV unless it is white and painted as a single coating.
Does your RV sealant work on every material?
Yes, it can work on the other material also, but it may not give the fine result as it gives on the RVs. So, it is important to note that not all the RV sealant cam work on the surface made up of all types of material.
Also, the sealants are designed in such a way that they can perfectly work on the material of RVs such as bathroom tub. You may consider the instruction manual inured with your RV sealant to check if it can seal the materials other than the RVs. As it depends on the type of caulk, so you must use the caulk for the other materials.
Is the silicon chalk good to work with?
No, the silicone caulk is not that good as the rubberized sealant. You may get attracted to its multipurpose use as in the bathroom tub or any other household appliances but it is not at all flexible. It is very hard and brittle and is adhesive as it does not get stick easily and does not cover the whole crack because of its inflexible character.
Although, you can work with it there are more numbers of a disadvantage than its advantage. I’d the situation arises when your camper either twists or moves, it does not get a hold on it. Also, it is not water leakage resistant and the moisture can occur underneath the roof of the RV. So, you must opt for the rubber RVs sealant as it is very flexible in behavior and easily gets spread to cover the crack and it is non-permeable to the water.
How long can you use your RV sealant?
The lifespan of the RV sealant depends on the number of times you have to use it. It is common sense that the more you use the sealant for roofs the more caulk gets lesser in size. If your RV sealant is branded then you may need it only two times a year for recaulking.
So, that it is not used many times and the caulk remains for you to use for a longer duration. As the caulk gets stick to the surface because of its adhesive nature wherever they are applied so they last long for several years.
How to caulk your RV roof and windows?
The first step is to find the spot where you want to seal it with the water and air so that it would become easy for you and you can quickly do it. Make sure that there is no raining or snowing before you apply the best rubberized sealant on the roof of your RV. Also, if you are working on the exterior side of the windows then you must be assured that no harsh winds are blowing there. While sealing, you must also consider the different types of vents and window slide-outs.
Moreover, you must find the area where you want the caulking to be done. Before applying the caulking, you must make sure that your RV is clean with water and soap and after that dry with the air. You must look after the cracks and holes on the roof for which you can pull out the caulking gun. After cutting the tube of the caulk, place your RV roof caulk into the gun and apply it to the crack surface.
It is important to keep in mind that you need the exterior caulking for the RV as it can prevent the water from getting entry into the crack and various spaces. Also, the protection from the exterior elements is important such as moisture, snow, rain and also insects from causing damage to your vehicle.

How to Seal Your RV Roof?
Video Transcript:
Does not have any issues this is our cleaner the cleaner is very simple to apply you put into a spray bottle any kind of spray bottle via the little dollars for spray bottles you spray it on the roof you take a brush you scrub it and you rinse it off you do that all the way down the roof once the roof is dry and you’ll go through and you’ll check your ceiling normally what I do when I check my ceiling because I take a little object like so and I put an invention inside the ceiling if an intention goes through that means the ceiling is still pliable so therefore all we have to do and today we’re just going to spot seal one little section to show you how it’s done I’m going to use this container called a curse off this is a product that’s safe for rubber roofs plastics and painted surfaces now if you get on your roof and it’s not dirty and you can spot seal and clean the areas that you’re going to seal basically you’re gonna take a rag some accros all spray a little section and what you want to do is you want to clean it that way the product that we use to seal it will actually tear to the roof.
And you’ll take your two good dye cord like so once you’ve cleaned the whole roof cut the tube just a little bit tell you about an inch and a half down you want a nice big hole like so then you will take your caulking gun to poke a hole into it and this is a self-leveling ceiling this is a lap ceiling and it’s made by core this is recommended by the manufacturer the rubber roofs so you can’t go wrong with that basically you’re going to start here at the edge and you’re going to put a nice thick beam along the side now this is it self leveling it use it and see what so you apply it generously what that does that seals any cracked gaps or splits for any of accessories for the roof bar as you can see our product has leveled out nice and smooth.
And that’s why I use the self-leveling that way you don’t have to go through and smooth it out but you can see the edges are very nice it’s filled all the graphs gaps and cracks and we’re good to go if you have a fiberglass roof which is just like the roof right next to us which doesn’t have an eighty p.m. rubber roof you would clean it for the product like this is fiberglass clean and prep so you want to do the whole roof just like you would do a rubber roof your sealant can be the Sikaflex 221 or you can use 311 as you can see it’s a fairly easy process it does think about it then to do so take your time and when you take your time you always get a really good job if you have any questions or any concerns or if your roof is bad please come see us here at the travel that Barbies we will take care of them.
Final Verdict:
If I am being asked, I would recommend the Dicor 501LSW-1 Epdm Self-Leveling Lap Sealant as it is painted with a single coat making it easy to deflect the sunlight.
