And my wife and we’re going to go ahead and back and pack them and stick them right in the freezer so we’re going to go ahead and pick the size you have to seal it first you got to seal that end we’re gonna hit seal once that is done we’re going to go ahead and cut that I’ll show you in a second as soon as it’s finished okay it’s done take this little thing right here just go zip open it up and you got a nice deal so now we’re just going to go ahead and we’re going to mark this with a magic marker today is 7/3 2020 sealant before you put the vegetables.

Okay, we’re back our next mission is a quart of strawberries and you know forget the viruses for a minute but to have fresh fruit and vegetables available all the time is great now these strawberries are actually three for six dollars that means two dollars of court it’s actually pretty cheap when I was a kid we used to sell strawberries I was raised on the farm we used to sell strawberries 50 Cent’s 75 cents clerk we used to grow our own.
But anyway we’re gonna go ahead and have it show you how to do the fresh strawberries they’re beauties aren’t thing so here we go now you have to make sure that you select enough from the bag so that you have enough room to put that whole court in so we’re going to try that right there let’s see we gotta seal it first I hope that’s enough it doesn’t look like it might not be enough if not we’ll have to resize it and save that bag for something smaller okay there we go we’re sealed go ahead and cut it and there you go now let’s see if we can fit that whole quart of strawberries in here actually let’s go ahead and mark it first don’t forget to mark it.
First three seven twenty you know they say that you can now keep this stuff for like six months roots vegetable types of meat whatever six months have you back compact in the freezer I’m just gonna go ahead and stick this whole thing in there again and there you have it gotta kind of move them around make sure that all the corners are full shake them up a little bit that looks pretty good you’ll see this little tray that I’ve got here it holds the strawberries up just nice enough to be able to fit that in there because this is really got to be straight across here before you.
Close that door in fact let’s try that and again make sure you try to pull them pull the ends now because we have strawberries we’re going to use the moist setting because if you use the regular dry it’s gonna squish those strawberries so let’s go ahead and see if these works hold on to see I forgot to pick moist moist vac sealed and there we go and you’re going to notice it’s please them together but it doesn’t crush them and there you have it it’s sealing and we’re done so now what I do is I cut off the excess so we have a nice package and this is what we wasted not much and there you have it.
They’re ready for the freezer okay and we’ll be back with the next mission see you soon okay we’re back I already went ahead and now vacuum seal this lettuce but I just wanted to show you you know lettuce doesn’t last very long in the refrigerator so basically if you just vacuum back down and again you would use the moist sealer on this and this how it will last up to ten days in the refrigerator because you vacuum-packed it when you take the oxygen out of the bag it doesn’t let the stuff go right so there you have it we’ll be back okay we’re back.
What I’m gonna do now is I’m going to do the raspberries and then you have blueberries so we’re going to cut a little piece gotta make sure we have enough room to fit a whole pint I guess that’s a pint we’re gonna go ahead and actually I think it just a little bit more just to be safe go ahead and seal it so frozen raspberries frozen blueberries any time you want to throughout the year there we go we’re sealed go ahead and cut it roll this back.
A little bit and we’re going to go ahead and dump those blueberries right in there take the whole tray in I forgot to mark them I forgot to mark the date so we’re gonna have to do it this way there our buddy 720 excuses me 7 320 and we’re ready to seal shake them up a little bit huh come on top my little tray stick them right in there and again we’re gonna be using the moist mode make sure you pull these sides before you press them down we’re gonna be doing moist and go ahead back and seal and there you go you’ll notice that it didn’t crush the blueberries now it’s sealing and once that’s done it’s done go ahead and cut that extra off and you have a little bit leftover but you’ll notice that you’ve got a nice little vacuum packaged.
O let’s go ahead and do the blueberries excuse me let’s go do the raspberries we also have a point of those that should be enough right there go ahead and seal it and it’s almost done it’s done let’s go ahead and cut it sometimes you got a rate raised this up because it didn’t flatten enough so let’s bring it over on this side cut it off bingo and there you have let’s go ahead and mark this seven 320 and let’s go ahead and stick those raspberries in there we got to push this back a little bit raspberries as you know are very delicate.
So you have to be careful with them shake them up a little bit and make sure that rough edge the rough it’s a couple of bumps on it you’ll see it on the other side it’s got little bumps so we’re gonna go ahead and stick that in there pull the sides together push down and again make sure you use the moist back seal and there you have it notices didn’t that crush or smoosh the raspberries it’s stealing now and it’s done so we’re going to go ahead and cut that excess off again and wha-la there you go okay our next mission flaming young.
So you’ll see I’ve got nice little filled filet mignons here and basically what we’re going to do is we’re going to put two in each bag so I think that’s enough right there go ahead size that let’s just give it just a little bit more because you never know if you’re short you’re gonna have to use that bag for something smaller it’s not a big deal but it’s always good to have it done the first time the right way so we’re gonna go ahead and seal that and you’ll notice there’s one for me one for my wife she always likes the smaller ones, okay so we’re done here go ahead zip and there you go roll that back a little bit and let’s go ahead and stick these right in there make sure that when you put the meat in especially.
Because it’s moist that you don’t hit the insides of the bags where it’s going to seal because if you do that then it doesn’t seal properly so here we are and again I forgot marking so let’s do it the hard way 7 320 okay and again you know the meats vegetables whatever will last up to six months in the freezer if you vacuum pack them so you notice I got a nice and organized then put that right on there make sure we pull the sides again and we’re gonna do let’s see this is me so we can actually do dry on meat okay go ahead back up seal that you’ll see I’d probably consider right now there we go we’re sealing.
And you know what I down as I should have marked that filet mignon because a lot of times you look at it you really don’t know what it is so there we go okay you see I waste a little bit but I’m gonna go ahead and write leaving you on down there so that we know okay there’s that one let’s go ahead and do the next one and you’ll see how nice that is nice and matching packed sealed up good it’ll last up six months so there we go I think that I should put just a little bit more hold on I’m gonna go ahead and seal it now make sure that after you handle any meat or chicken or whatever you wash your hands it’s very important to wash your hands for at least 20 seconds to avoid contamination, okay so that’s done and roll this back.
Let’s go ahead and stick those right in here up again I almost forgot to market almost for time and oh he’s always right on the smooth side, not the rough side so 7 320 blaming young so we know what they are ok now we go ahead and stick our meat in there and again make sure that you do not touch the inside of the bag with the meat because it will cut a little uh prevent it even your fingers so I mean if you get your fingers in there just got to be very careful there we are that right down there fold it up make sure you pull the sides that are very important when I first got this thing it was a real pain in the butt because I didn’t pull it to the sides and it needs a nice seal.
So let’s go ahead back in Steelers there you have it sealing now and we’re done good cut that extra off and you can go both ways when you cut you don’t have to cut from one way or the other there’s our wasted piece and there’s our flamin young so we’ll be back with something else in a minute okay we’re back I’m gonna breakfast sausages you’ll notice two four six seven is 14 sausages nobody’s gonna eat 14 sausages at one time in fact.

So I have a way that you could save money on these vacuum bags and I’ll be putting the video together for that shortly that would be a separate video anyway we’re gonna go ahead and do these first go ahead and seal it and it’s gonna be done there we are we’re going to go ahead and cut I’m gonna take this one out I got to replace that roll but anyway I’m here we’re gonna make sure we mark it first 20 sausage breakfast and we’re just gonna take care for them let’s stick them in this is actually where I got that little tray from one of these and then go ahead and put them right in here side by side and again be sure to wash your hands stick.

I’m gonna make this big when I make sure it’s pretty enough gonna go ahead and seal it and I guess this is the best beef for the beef stew it’s tender and that’s what my wife likes and there we go over sealed cut it let’s go ahead and stick that beef right in there I don’t want to get my hands all over it so I’m just gonna stick that tray in and remember what I said about getting the meat on the inside of the bag that’s not good okay because it gets wet makes it harder to seal that white thing off move this back a little bit because it’s quite a bit.
Of meat, in their kind of shake it up a little bit looks like we have plenty of bag as a matter of fact I think we have too much bag so what I’m gonna do when you have to when you cut too much and you don’t want the bag so big we’re just gonna cut that off before we seal it, okay so I wasted that but you’re gonna see that’s gonna be a nice it’s going to be a nice bag hold on here we go and again both sides and again we’re gonna do the dry so go ahead and back seal and there we have it it’s going it’s sealing.
Now and we’re going to do some chicken after this and that’s about it I think I demonstrated how to use this Bahnson kitchen vacuum sealer good enough so let’s go ahead and cut that and here we are got a nice beef stew dinner will be back okay we’re back last but not least let’s do some chicken legs and once I do these then I’m going to take you out to the deep freezer that I bought it only cost me 150 bucks and fits in the garage nice sky boy shelf work whatever so there are 14 pieces of chicken here we’re gonna split them up in to do them for dinners.
I need to make sure there’s in that bag so that’s why I’ve got so much and I think that’s gonna be fine let’s go ahead and seal that and know he’s faced buying bulk when you can buy a bulk you save money and again and let us six months in the freezer so and especially you know like they’re talking about this coronavirus where you know they’re not even gonna be able to go to the basketball games because too many people’s going to be in the same place I’m prepared if I have to stay my house I know I’ve got enough food so here we go let’s go ahead and stick this chicken in there hop gonna mark it doesn’t forget to mark it 20 copy offset for six months.
And let’s see seven so two four six seven so we have seven pieces it looks like I did a pretty good job I’m sizing that bag and again my little tray if that was sitting directly on the counter it’d be harder to get a better seal so actually, we’ve got I’m gonna go ahead and seal it the way it is remembered blue sides backpack and we’re doing it dry and you’ll see that when it’s wet attracted backs the coaches stuff together so it takes what space in the freezer because stealing now and we’re ready to rock to haul so that’s it the next thing I’m going to do again is I’m going to show you outside the freezer and how you can probably organize if you get a freezer like the one I did you can organize freezer anyway we’ll be back okay before we go out to the freezer.
I just want to show you a nice little trick remember this bag I cut a little bit too short for something plus it had meat in it already you don’t want to put anything else in it for cross-contamination well basically what I want to do now you know how the garbage stinks if we leave this stuff in there all the extra wrapping and all the meat stick it in the bag stick it in this bag and just vacuum seal it and there you go just a little tip before I go okay here.
We go we’re gonna vacuum seal this up nice thing about it you can put this right in the garbage make sure you pull the sides stick it right in the garbage to make sure that when you do this there’s a lot of blood and stuff in there so we have to use moist you can’t use drier because I’m gonna suck all the blood into the machine we don’t want that so here we go we have a compact sign isn’t that nice now my wife she used to take and put that stuff in the freezer and freeze it and I did every week I’d have a big bag of all the stuff to throw out and there.
We go we’re done we don’t even have to cut this one got a nice seal pack looks at that and that beautiful the bugs can’t get it it won’t stink up your garbage and we’re going out to the garage next so there you are okay here’s how we’re gonna save some money on vacuum sealer bags the one that I when I bought this machine it came with a little roll, okay and you’ll notice that I use that whole roll so what I did was I went online and I bought six big rolls in fact this row was bigger than it is now because I’ve been using it but in order to save money you have to make sure that you save the little cardboard roller that the unit came with because what I’m gonna do is I and what I did was I took some tape.
And I actually taped this whole thing so that when we stick future rolls onto the onto this roller okay see that broke off right there so what I’m gonna do is I’m just gonna pull this back a little bit and we’re gonna go ahead and we’re going to take this roll and we’re going to start a new one so basically what we’re going to do is we’re going to start a new row as a matter of fact this roll here you’ll notice a little cardboard piece you can actually use them too but I’d probably use the big one, okay so what we’re gonna do here and you have to make sure the rough side is down we’re going to go ahead and we’re gonna.
How did I do this last time kind of like this make sure it’s even on both sides and stick it to that tape and that what we’re gonna do is we’re gonna put this roll-up here because it doesn’t fit it will not fit but it’s easier to create the new roll by pulling it out like this okay so what we’re going to do is we’re going to start rolling this and making a smaller role now eventually that roll will be small enough to fit in there so we don’t have to do this and what you have to do is you have to make sure that you push the edges together so you’ve got a nice roll when you’re done in fact I think by the time we’re done with this roll that other roll will be able to leave just.
Right in there we’ll cut it push your ends together make sure it’s nice to see now it almost looks like that roll right there Fitz and we’re going to do just a test that that’s going to be fine so what we’re gonna do is we’re going to go ahead and cut that and there’s an there’s our roll so now we have a brand new roll, okay and we have this that we can use on just for when we run out okay and we’ll take this little piece of tape right here that I say it tape that out and we’re ready to rock and roll okay we’re back I just want to show you guys this is the freezer that I bought it’s a deep freezer goes right in the garage to believe it or not it was only 150 bucks it costs 26 dollars a year to run this freezer.
Which is nothing and this is all the stuff we can fit in it I took all the shelves out there are our steaks lamb chops Italian sausages and this one here I’ve got all my lobster tails all my scallops here are Brussel sprouts here are fish I got six pounds of cod in there and there’s some swordfish over here we got steaks we’ve got the flaming yonks this over here is our fruits strawberries blueberries raspberries and over here we got one for shrimps and you’ll notice did I put these in little packages because we only have like six strips at a time we split them.

How does a vacuum sealer work?
Hi, chef and builder JD Pendleton we are back in the kitchen because I’m going to teach you how to do my vacuum sealing now the other day I told you that my husband and I went to Big Lots and inside Big Lots, they had a great big grocery cart full of Luna dune cookies and a great whole bunch of a Double Stuf golden oriole which is one of my favorites besides the pumpkin Oreos and then a husband’s favorite was the chipper boys here this is the king-sized bag and I got a bunch of these you see well we all know that when they put them out like that means that do day is almost up.
So when you’re buying your cookies and you see in the cart see it says February of 2015 I mean they’re up right now but in all honesty we know that this would probably be good for their six months to a year probably before they harden up in an open bag, okay but we’re not going to risk that I don’t want to worry about that because what we’re going to do is we’re going to put our cookies there’s a little bit of dude these are the Girl Scout cookies that.
We just bought off the neighbor girl we’re going to put these into some canning jars, okay and we’re going to vacuum seal them see that we’re going to vacuum seal them now what I’ve done here just to show you is I took these out of the package and I mixed them with a cookie that I thought even if this had a little bit of a lemon flavor with this lemon that’s fine with me but my husband did not want me to mix these peanut butter cookies with his Girl Scout samosas that he bought from the neighbor girl so we’re going to keep those separate, okay you don’t want to combine those flavor but that’s not what you like but something like Luna dudes.
And the Girl Scout regular cookies right here the Girl Scout in the room we know they’re basically the same flavor I’m being for the most part so we can put those together in the same jar that’s fine then here what we’ve done is we just put the lemon Crescent cookies in with the regular cookies and that’s going to be fine too I don’t care if that picks up the lemon flavor I’m fine with that now as far as the chocolate chips go I could probably put a few chocolate chips in here as well because this will probably one of the first jars that my husband opens up to eat.
These are his favorite and then I could put a few chocolate chip cookies in there as well and then just pick up a little bit of a coconut flavor on someone but he’s fine with that because he likes that flavor cuz I washed the jars in really hot soapy water and I mean really soapy hot water then you want to rinse the soap out of here really really well well we know that the water is it sterile so what you’re going to do now is you’re going to turn upside down and I just turn them upside down here on like a drawing pad like this or in my tea towel got most of the water out flip them back upright and actually what I did is I put these jars to dry then and to sterilize in a cold oven I took all the racks out but the bottom rack.
And I slid all these in the oven it held 12 jars it holds another 6 in my auxiliary oven but most ovens will hold you know between nine to twelve jars so what I did then is while the oven was cool and after these were washed and rinsed and drained of most of the water off of them like this on the pad I put this inside of a side of a cold oven I didn’t turn the oven on yet remember cold glass cold oven then I turned on the oven and I slowly brought the oven up to 225 degrees now I have a convection oven so that circulates the air.
But it works the same in a regular oven as well it’s just that with a convection oven the air in the oven stays more consistent at 225 degrees so then I turned the oven back off again alright and I let these cool down back down to near room temperature I mean they’re just barely warm I mean they’re just a little warmer than the room now you can feel your cookies in here loose just like this right here or I find the easiest way to pack them although they’re not the best space-saving way but the easiest way to pack them is to actually keep them in your package.
See that the rocks are still in here in their package now I washed and dried fold the lids as well and I wash you dried all the Rings let them dry out here on a tea towel overnight now you’ve got to make sure everything in here is dry or you will give mold you do not want that make sure your dark jar is dry and it will be after you turn on that oven from a cold state-run it at 225 for turn the oven back off and by the time you cool these off it takes about 4 or 5 hours for this for these to cool off we do not want to open the oven door you don’t want to cool.
These off too fast or you can break your jars what we do know that these are cooled off is we take to do this right here there’s a balloon ADUN keep them in your package do that right there makes them a lot easier you have to worry about stacking them all up in there that way so what we do here now is we’re just going to cut the top off here we just need enough cut off that we’ve made a hole in the bag so when we stuffed the air out of these jars it’ll suck the air out of this bag alright and I did the same thing here with this I going to cut that top right off.
They’re just like that right there turn up turning down in there too much and then now I’ve got all my Luna dunes in here but now I still have the Girl Scout cookie time go ahead go got it clean them up in there all right and again we do the same thing with these right here let’s whip those down in there just like that right here and there we go if you wanted to I mean if you didn’t have these mean jars you could probably take something out of the package because you can’t get another one down in there you can probably just put some loose cookies down in the side down in here just like that right there see that that would be fine right now we’re going to do the same thing here star chips away remember we.
Can do the cookies lose or we can cut off the top so that way the air will suck out of them and we can put them in a package, either way, works just fine all right so what we have here is we have packages like this right here so we can do the exact same thing we’re just gonna cut it through a pop off like that and you can just sit them down in there and they’ll fake stack just like that right there you don’t even have to touch it will pop off I mean we go lose a little more cross horseback so look at that we’ll be right on top of each other look at that or well let’s see if we can put those down in there some other way you go what get one here I’m gonna have to go ahead and dump these out a little bit of shake little bit of a tap deport best for affray a heart or cookie not.
So much one of the soft batch cookies I mean it’ll keep them soft but they smell so good howl them in just like that right there taps here and there remember this jar is refillable over and over and over again so as soon as I open one these and you can also put oxygen absorbers in here as well I’m going to continue to fill these up and that’s probably high enough red do it again with Oreos I’m just pulling these out of the oven and lookee I’ve got a couple extra of these so I’m just going to put these in with the samosas and.
My husband’s fine with that he can grab a chocolate chip cookie and a samosa Oreo cookies what we’re gonna do and these don’t come prepackaged like that so they smell so good there we go stack these up just like this right here you see in that right there I hope so only dude go up so high at a time with these you should be able to get four then you might have a harder time getting a larger hand down in here but there we go so you can get four in their people again package and part of another package here inside this half-gallon jar these.
Are half-gallon jars broken one I guess I could eat that I don’t mind either I do not mind mmm YUM break my heart I got my milk sitting right here ready for that Wario’s Goldman Oreos pumpkin Oreos those would be my absolute all-time favorite birthday cake Oreos mmm I’m making you hungry yet are you ready to grab a cookie and a glass of milk with me there we go so about 1 and 3/4 packages Okies Oreos come at that now there you have that one couple taps and that settles them down nicely and again I probably got more?
In here but this is so much easier to stop and pull a section of these out of the time if you leave them in the plastic just remember to cut open the tops of the plastic that’s very important to get the air sucked out of those packages in those packages and the air in those packages has already reached the due date you want to start over with that then it will be back and I’ll show you how to use the jar vacuum sealer ok and this comes in a wide mouth and a regular mouth canning jar sealing top so we’ll be back in just a few minutes now.
With just a dry paper towel I’m just going to wipe off the lids and all my jars that way we don’t keep any of them from sealing do not use vinegar do not use any water you want no moisture inside these jars whatsoever they must be dry sterile we can keep them okay and I’ve got this right here to show you now what you want to do when you open one it’s already been opened you can reuse a lid you just want to kind of take a little bit there.
And kind of there we go this is one we’re going to eat up quickly so so this works on pies go okay so you’re going to see that this works on pint jars with regular Mouse it works on any jar with a wide mouth, okay and I use the ball lids when I do this and you won’t have to have these but I do put them with them just because something like cookies is something that you open and close whenever you open and close it you know if you open it.
You can just sit it on the cabinet like this if you think it’ll eat them quickly you don’t have to repack you seal it or you can vacuum seal this lid over and over and over again it’s just fine now what I have here and I’m going to work quickly here as I have oxygen absorbers now what I’m going to do is I’m open this up when I’m ready here in a second I will not open these I’m gonna have to work pretty fast here this because there we go remember that’s reusable I set that aside I don’t know that that posted at all right now I’m just going to put these oxygen absorbers down inside it just lay them right in there just like that right there it takes one per jar.
And this will so they oxidize at the iron and they leave at the nitrogen I’m going to put one in all of this cuz I need to use these up stuff them down in there and no big deal alright I don’t know if I can seal this thing but show you how I do it just doing it here I’m going to preheat the lid back on these oxygen absorbers wipe that lid off the stick that on hold away burp that that back off pop that off like that right there and looky there plus I’ll stay on because those are oxygen absorbers all right so any one of these will work put a ring on.
And I come to store these up in my cabinet and they are still good now let’s go on to this next one here you can see I’ve got the oxygen absorber in here these are all clean but just in case I’m kind of wipe them off I pop that rim sorry I Center my name up with the sure label these the date and the and what’s inside the jar what kind of cookies or whatever I know you think you can see them sometimes a lemon in the birthday cake Orioles can be the same so okay that jar get that all just like that look at that I can hold it up by its top that’s on there real nice now that oxygen absorber that I put in here plus that vacuum sealing okay that’s going to keep that good for about fifteen to thirty years I’ll probably live long enough to tell you but my grandkids probably will but that’s long enough to keep some cookies they’ll be going by then I’m sure.
But I want to tell you and John will tell you that I picked up all these cookies all of this that you saw here except the Girl Scout cookies I picked up all of these bags and choc chip away chocolate chips I picked up all of this twelve so six to twelve to twenty-four to five twenty-six twenty-seven so I think twenty-seven packages of cookies that they had in the Big Lots cart but still whatnot it’s date yet I picked up all of these for under nine dollars okay under nine dollars for all of this because I got seventy percent off everything that was in that cart I took every discount that I had and I walked in there and I got out every box of cookie that still was under a due date in the cart and I put him through the line I just started piling them on the conveyor belt and I’m going to have these cookies you know I’ve got the pumpkin ones from last year.
And they’re still delicious that’s all I have left of them and I said the Luna Dunes all of these every time I buy something you asked me how I store it this is how I do it this unit cost me about twenty dollars that’s it twenty dollars on eBay just make sure that they have the air plug hose right here let’s see if I can turn you a better just make sure they have any air plug hose here for the air hose okay that’s the most important part making sure that it has that hole on the machine somewhere I suggest that in an SHTF situation a WRAL situation you get some extra hoses in case you clog these I mean they’re cleanable you can even sterilize these by the way in the dishwasher top rack and you get some extra one of these because eventually.
This little rubber rings right here will give out now I’ve been told that you can turn these rubber rings upside down and put them in and they actually work for some people even better on their machines so it depends on your machine but either way these work on a curve and ball jars that I dunno alright so I’m going ahead and finish sealing these up net oxygen absorber that’s going to help take any oxygen at this vacuum sealer didn’t get out of there we’re just going to keep going like this keep check-in it and you don’t want to put those on real tight.
Because you want to be able to if there’s any air we can through here at all you want to make sure that you get that again don’t forget to label them what they are and they fit you up that you did this now you’re going to ask me what are some of the things that you can vacuum seal honey you can vacuum seal anything from dry beans and rice to flour and sugar just not powdered sugar or corn starch unless what I found out is if you put like a cupcake liner in the top then you can probably do it then okay Oh like I said this blood right here that didn’t work and that’s because that wasn’t a ball would see that wasn’t a ball lid I had on there and everybody how many times I tried it for some reason the thickness or something on there it just didn’t work it’s a ball jar no I’m sorry that’s a Golden Harvest jar I guess that maybe that explains it.
Right there so I guess that’s why I don’t mind golden harvest jars I mean know where that thing came from probably came as a gift and a gift of jam or something all right things that you can do spaghetti you can dry canned spaghetti but you can also to keep it fresh for real for a shorter period of time you can certainly vacuum seal it in fact I’ll do another episode here coming up on everything that you can vacuum seal all right so I hope you’ve enjoyed this episode on how to vacuum seal the parts that you need to do it and I think it was just god-given that this didn’t work I didn’t even realize I was using a Golden Harvest the lid and the jar I thought these were bald jars I didn’t even didn’t really pay attention I’m sure what that even came from, to be honest with you and been using Golden Harvest jars in a very long time but this will be a final screw.

So that you don’t put some sharp marks on the lid okay that will help reassure that you haven’t damaged any of the edges here so it seals but if you have to use something with this just barely a prod ply pressure just you’ll hear it you’ll hear this you’ll feel it starting to give just don’t tear it off like that just a little bit and then it’ll come right off just get the air started and it will pop self off that will keep the side of this right here from getting damaged and damaging any of this right here I don’t always use oxygen absorbers only if I know that I’m going to have it in the cabinet for more than six months or over a year or up to that 30 year time.
And I’m going for 15 to 30 year time then I’ll put an oxygen absorber in there alright and here we have it all the cookies that I bought for under nine dollars except for the Girl Scout cookies all in the half-gallon jugs all that vacuum sealed and ready and fresh for me to eat like the day I open the package you know 15 20 25 30 years from now people swear up to 30 years I can only testify to nine but I’m sure I can push 15 now that I’ve opened up some nine-year-old jars so and this new way of vacuum sealing with the volcanic lids that’s the definitely the way to go it’s so easy and convenient and like I said you can go on and spend about forty to forty-five dollars maximum on a machine.
