How Coconut Oil Helped to Heal My Baby’s Skin?

Video Transcript:

Hands up who has a jar of coconut oil in their home somewhere I had a jar of coconut oil in my bathroom cupboard for years going back about eight-nine years now and occasionally I would open the cupboard and occasionally I’d use it on my skin or my scalp but really its place that many years ago was in the cupboard in my bathroom seven years ago my son was born and he was born with really dry skin when he was about six months old it started to become a problem.

Because he started to get irritable with his skin so as a new mother would trust their GP I went to the doctor but the doctor gave me a cream that at the time I completely trusted was good I mean why on earth would my doctor give me something that wasn’t right, however, the cream had something in it that I can’t pronounce and liquid paraffin so I was using this cream on his skin and I was quite suspicious by how the cream would this literally sort of fall down the inside and clean the inside of the plastic top that it was in it makes you think well if it’s doing that to the inside of the tub what’s they’re actually doing to my son’s skin ironically this gel or cream.

Whatever it was called double base that my doctor was giving me is known to cause skin irritation and yet he was giving it to me to give to my six-month-old baby thankfully my sister-in-law got in touch with me and said I should use coconut oil now I remembered I had a jar of coconut oil in the cupboard in the bathroom I started using coconut oil all over his skin I’m so grateful for the tip that she told me she said don’t stop using it even though it might not be working straightaway don’t stop using it within about six to eight months I was able to stop using so much coconut oil.

I was able to throw that double base in the bin and my skin my son’s skin started to heal the cream the doctor gave me didn’t treat the cure at all it just would take it away temporarily and it would always come back now to cut a very very long story short my husband a few years after that had an epiphany he woke up one morning he said Donna we’re going to go into the coconut oil business now my husband’s a little bit of a dreamer he’s an HDV driver.

And he’s a dreamer so I didn’t think anything of it but lo and behold within about a year’s time he was off to Sri Lanka after we’ve tested and tried some coconut oils and he came back with our own brand of Boo Ali organic virgin coconut oil what I do now to sell my oil is I educate people especially those that have got young children because now we’ve got coconut oil in the bathroom coconut oil in the kitchen coconut oil in the bedroom we eat it with clean our teeth.

With it we clean our car with it we clean our house with it I use it on my hair I use it on my skin but best of all my son doesn’t have eczema he has got the most perfect skin in the world so if any of you want to know how to use and I know a lot of you put your hands up that jar of coconut oil in your house then please just come to me and ask thank you.

How to make homemade coconut oil?

Video Transcript:

Oday’s video is how to make coconut oil in its purest form at home coconut oil is excellent for boosting your HDL or good cholesterol it’s an excellent moisturizer for your skin and for your hair it has antifungal properties which you normally don’t get in the store-bought coconut oil because it’s processed and additives are put into it so that it can be preserved for a long time this can also this oil which we make at home can also be used for massaging newborn babies which is very common in Indian homes.

It can also be used as an oil for salads instead of olive oil it is easily digestible this can be easily made at home and it is at its purest form when you make it yourself so let’s begin today I have taken three coconuts try and take mature coconuts for this because the tender ones give very less oil I have removed the flesh from the shell cut into small pieces so that is easier to blend in the mix put it into the mixy added warm water every batch of ground I have added two cups of warm water.

And we are going to extract the coconut milk we are going to extract the milk three times is the first milk second milk and the third milk we are going to collect it together we are going to collect it separately it’s easier to pass it through a cloth than just a sieve because you get just the coconut milk if you pass it through a good cotton cloth I’m repeating the process again and again till I get three times the coconut milk and every time I’m adding lukewarm water at the end of this process I’ve got approximately two liters of coconut milk collectively.

This residue that you get you can’t do anything with it you can’t consume it but if you were in a village and you had cattle you could use it as fodder you could also use this in your compost if you have house plants here I have to keep this milk in the fridge for a few hours so what I’m doing is I’m transferring to two smaller utensils so that I can cover it and keep it in the refrigerator I’ve kept it in the refrigerator for six to seven hours what happens in this time is that the coconut cream floats to the top and the water in it settles at the bottom to make the cream more firm an hour.

Before I’ve removed it from the fridge I’ve kept it in the freezer so as you can see it’s easy for me to separate the coconut cream from the water below keep this coconut cream on high flame to cook till it starts boiling once it starts boiling mix well reduce the flame to medium and continue cooking very soon in say five to six minutes you’ll start the milk solids starting to clump together and the oil is separating you can cook this milk solids further till it’s brown.

But then the oil will also turn slightly brown in color since I want the oil to be clear I’ve stopped cooking at this point your homemade coconut oil is ready to be used I am passing it through the sieve and collecting it into a bottle try and store it in glass bottles here it is your homemade coconut oil is ready you can use it for daily cooking too beautifully aromatic homemade pure coconut oil is ready to be used I hope you enjoyed this video if you have then please give it a big thumbs up also comment on and share this video among your friends and family if you haven’t subscribed to my channel yet then please do so now and do not forget to press the bell icon Thanks for watching and have a great day.
